SUPER TOP TRIAL TEAM MITON IN INGHILTERRA
Comunicato 11/2008
Grande affermazione per il Top
Trial Team Miton alla prima prova del campionato Inglese corsa
in Scozia.
Ho guidato veramente bene nell'ultimo giro dopo aver commesso
un po' di errori nel secondo. Grazie a tutto il Team e a
shaungan. Adesso guardo avanti al prossimo round a Sant David
questa domenica.

Michael Brown took victory in round 1 of the 2008 British
championship held at “The Mound” in Kinlochleven, Scotland. The
trial proved to be very difficult with only the top 3 riders in
the championship class finishing under 100 marks lost. Michael
started well with two good cleans but then suffered a few
problems in the middle part of the first lap, this included four
maximums and also 3 marks on time. He would be 1 mark behind
good friend and rival James Dabill after the opening lap. Lap 2
started much the same with a clean on section 1 but a scrappy
three on the second hazard started a bad run. Two fives in the
next two sections quickly put him behind Dabill who was having a
much better second lap. With another two fives his score would
be 32 for the lap, compared with Dabill’s 15. It was very close
going into the last lap with only a couple of marks separating
Michael, Jarvis and Morris with Dabill some 18 marks ahead. He
once again cleaned section’s 1 and 2 but had to have a quick dab
on the tricky third hazard. The 5th and 7th sections took him
for three’s but he followed this with three cleans. A dab on the
11th and a two on the final section would make his score 11 for
the lap. With Dabill having 29 on the last lap the scores were
tied on 74 and would be decided with a most cleans tie breaker.
Michael had 12 cleans to James’s 8 to take his first British
championship win. Shaun Morris finished third after also having
a good last lap.
Michael spoke after the trial “I am over the moon with the
result today, after a poor second lap I knew that a good last
lap was needed. Everything just seemed to go perfect on the last
lap. The trial has been difficult but I have really enjoyed it.
Id like to thank Shaughan for minding for me today and all the
team for there support. I’m now looking forward to next week’s
St David’s trial”
The team now head for Wales next weekend for round 2 of the
championship. We would also like to congratulate Jack Challoner
on taking the expert win.

British Expert Championship Round 1
The Mound Kinlochleven
After two hectic weeks, with back to back rounds of the World
Trials Championship, there was no let up in the busy schedule,
as it was up to Kinlochleven in the Scottish Highlands for the
first round of the Colin Appleyard sponsored ACU British
Championships, where Jack Challoner is contesting the Adult
Expert class this year, as he is now 17 yrs old aboard his TTT,
Beta UK 125.
After the practice lap on Saturday it was plain that the trial
was not an easy one, and not ideal for the 125cc screamer, with
very heavy muddy conditions between the large boulders alongside
the Loch. Jack had picked last man away, and had a steady first
lap of 21, with Ben Hemmo on 18, and Joe Baker on 29, putting
Jack in 2nd after the 1st lap. Jacks second lap wasn’t to be as
good, with a 5 on section 2, which previously had only yielded a
1, and few more dabs here and there, he came in on 29 for the
second lap, dropping him down to 3rd place going into the last
lap, with Hemmo leading on 48, to Bakers 49 and Jacks 50.
The last lap was to be a tense affair, but Jack managed to
improve on his second lap score to match his first lap score of
21, to Bens 29, and Joes 23, giving Jack the victory by a single
mark from Joe Baker.
Afterwards Jack said ‘it has been a really good event today, but
also a really tough challenge, but I have managed to just keep
consistent most of the day, apart from a few too many on the 2nd
lap, I am really chuffed to have won the first round, my
confidence is good at the moment after the World Rounds, I just
want to keep the roll going, thanks to my Dad for minding today,
and the organisers for a mega event, and brilliant hospitality.’
Also Congratulations to Team mate Micheal Brown on taking the
win in the Championship class, making it a TTT, Beta UK clean
sweep, nice one.
Top 5 Placings:
1st Jack Challoner 71
2nd Joe Baker 72
3rd Ben Hemmo 77
4th Liam Walker 85
5th Dan Thorpe 95
Jacks next event is The St Davids trial, the 2nd round of the
ACU British Championship next weekend in deepest Wales.
