Adam Raga proved again his
dominance at World Indoor Series and tonight he displayed his
third win in a row of the season. Gas Gas rider overcame clearly
in the final Albert Cabestany who reached the second place in the
podium, and Dougie Lampin. The Briton finished again in honour
places and achieved the third position.
With these results, Raga strengthens his leadership in standings
with full 30 points, while another Spaniard, Albert Cabestany
makes himself stronger and keeps the second position with 22.
Toulouse Indoor Trial offered a great circuit, with seven timed
hazards and a double lane, all of them decorated with a charming
Chinese environment, with any doubt, the most sophisticated round
in the Championship, with more than 5.500 spectators in the Zénith
stadium of Toulouse.
Young rider Toni Bou showed his high quality, being quite at the
same level of the fixed riders.
Beta’s rider became the fastest in finishing the circuit, with
only 11 marks, a result that helped him to get the fourth
position. This fact made the some of the riders get embarrassed
with the fantastic result of a guest.
The French Jerome Bethune opened the qualification loop doing a
very poor performance with too much penalties.
The Brit Dougie Lampkin finished his performance with an
interesting result, which was going to be very useful for other
participants.
Japanese Fujinami, who had been out of the final in the previous
round held in Marseille, ruined his chances of taking the pass to
the final when marked five in the last observed section.
The horrible starting of Jeroni Fajardo, who added 13 penalties in
first four sections, conditioned his possibilities in Toulouse and
finally the Spaniard took the penultimate position. Marc Freixa
also didn’t have any luck in France. The Montesa-HRC rider tasted
final loop places during all the qualification lap, but first he
marked one point when he exceeded only five seconds in time and
later the Spaniard crashed at the end of the double lane and fell
to fifth place.
Albert Cabestany, was again an example of the best and the worst.
He made a fantastic first half with his Sherco, although did two
fives in a row in the last sections that put his classification in
danger.
As the last participant, Adam Raga showed again the current
champion goes on one step ahead of his rivals. The Gas Gas rider
cleaned all the circuit except the third hazard, where he put two
symbolic feet.
Raga gained an important distance in the final, which repeated the
characters we saw last week in Marseille, meanwhile Lampkin and
Cabestany fought to get the second position. The exciting battle
maintained very hot till the penultimate section. The Brit marked
five and then all chances disappeared. The leader in overall
arrived to the end with a comfortable advantage and clinched his
third win very easily.
World Indoor Series return in two days with its first visit to
Spain. The Championship arrives in Granada this coming Sunday 30th
January.
