serata dietro i 2 spagnoli.

Albert Cabestany has broken Raga’s dominance this
season in championship and obtained in Lisbon his first win in
2005 and offered to Sherco and important victory. Raga fell for
first time of the top of the podium after a very hot and exciting
final that was resolved in the play-off section, while Lampkin,
after his mistakes at the end of the circuit, didn’t have any
chance to fight for the victory.
More than 6,500 crowd witnessed the eighth round in Series at the
Atlantico Stadium in Lisbon.
On the final, Cabestany was decided to the victory from the first
hazard. Although low penalties among the riders maintained a very
close battle. Lampkin equalled with Cabestany before the double
lane race, but after head to head in the section by pairs, the
Briton fell to third position and Raga tied in results with Sherco
rider. The leader took advantager after penultimate observed
section, where Lampkin and Cabestany fived, when Raga defended the
hazard with only three points, becoming first alone in standings
one point ahead of his main rival. But in the waterfall, results
were again equalled and the victory had to be decided in the
play-off section, like in Milano. And Cabestany was faster this
time.
On the qualification lap, Blazusiak rode a little bit slow on the
circuit and charged his penalti card with four big mistakes, that
put him as the last in standings.
The Japanese Fujinami became the first fixed rider in attempting
the sections. The Montesa’s rider suffered a spectacular crash
without consequences on section 2. Fujigas showed himself more
confident and calm than in the previous trials, although the
failure on section four was the big obstacle to be in the final.
Fajardo started his display with three fives in a row, that put a
lot of pressure on his riding till the end. Gas Gas rider, very
nervous, didn’t maintain the level the Spaniard showed in last
rounds.
Marc Freixa goes on very far from his best. In the Portuguese
capital he charged with three successive fives that put again out
of the second lap. The Spanish rider is maintaining as the only
fixed rider has never been in finals this current season.
Sherco representant, Albert Cabestany, was the first rider that
found success attempting the section 2. The runner-up in overall
showed very solid and consistent on the qualification lap. He
enchained fantastic performances on the sections, completing a
perfect exhibition without no penalties, finishing also only one
second before the exceeded time, 10 minutes to complete the seven
observed hazards.
Neither of his rivals, Adam Raga was no exception, could equal the
Cabestany’s result. The leader in standings was no able to
complete section 2, but his low penalty card, only six points,
gave him the pass to the final.
Lampkin had Fujigas result, 11 penalties, as the ceiling to win
the access to second loop and podium places. And the Briton, sober
and effective, only tripped on the second hazard and lost three
points more in the last observed section, the waterfall.
