The
Japanese Takahisa Fujinami has achieved this afternoon an
historic result after reaching the leadership in the World
Trial Series, privilege that only the Brit Dougie Lampkin had
enjoyed for last seven years succesively. Fujigas, anyway,
didn’t take the win in second day at home, by only one point
under the Brit Graham Jarvis. Lampkin finished third and now
is tied with his teammate but second in general standings due
to the wins number in the season benefits to the Japanese.
Fujinami showed himself rather nervous, because of repeating
victory in Motegi he would achieve the top place overall
alone. Took the first place in the first lap, but one five in
the last section, put him drawed with Graham Jarvis, who rode
very consistant during all the weekend. Fujigas committed some
big mistakes in the second loop and give to Jarvis the first
place. The Spaniard Marc Friexa did the best second lap,
alhoutgh he was finally to two points from third position and
the podium.
The rain became very intensive at the beginning of the
competition. In the second half the sky opened as though the
weather change, but in the last hour of competition the rain
returned. More than 10,000 crowd witnessed the event in the
magnific Twin Ring Motegi complex. Shaun Morris recovered the
leadership in overall after repeating victory in Japan, making
a three points gap with Tadeusz Blazusiak. After the Japan
venue, World Series back again in three weeks when Andorra GP
will be contested.
