Doug Lampkin increases his average
with his fourth consecutive victory
Takahisa Fujinami finished second and Steve Colley climbed finally
to the podium
Doug Lampkin (Montesa-HCR) proved his fit in World Championship
and made his leadership stronger after his second victory at home,
the GP of Great Britain, fourth in a row at the World Championship.
Lampkin only did four marks in first lap, showed his dominance in
the worst weather conditions. His team-mate Takahisa Fujinami,
obtained the second best result, but with eight penalty points
under the Brit. Albert Cabestany repeated third place in standings
with 18 failures, with a little average from Colley and Colomer.
In second lap, Lampkin maintained his confidence to achieve a
clear victory and be very comfortable at the top of the standings.
Fujinami finished finally second and the Brit Steve Colley caught
the third place.
As yesterday, the rain continued today, but the weather was worse,
with cold wind.
In Junior Cup, the Japanese of Scorpa, Fumitaka Nozaki repeated
victory and becomes the new leader in this category.
Fujinami and Cabestany are tied in general standings with 58
points, 22 under the best rider after this first two rounds in
outdoor championship, five consecutive world champion, Doug
Lampkin.
World Championship return in two weeks with the GP of United
States. These coming 1st and 2nd June, Duluth will be held third
round in series.
